AITRaIN aims to support the digital transformation of European SMEs by developing a new professional profile: the AI Integration Specialist for SMEs. The project addresses the growing gap between the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence technologies and the current capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises to effectively use them.

Through innovative vocational education and training (VET), AITRaIN will create a structured framework of AI competences, a specialized curriculum, and flexible learning pathways that enable professionals to acquire practical AI skills applicable in real business environments.

The project will provide digital learning materials, an online training platform, and a micro-credential system that certifies AI competencies. By doing so, AITRaIN will help SMEs adopt AI technologies, improve productivity, and remain competitive in the evolving digital economy.

Why AITRain?

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming industries and business models across Europe. However, many SMEs face significant challenges in adopting AI technologies due to limited access to specialized training, lack of skilled professionals, and the absence of standardized learning pathways.

AITRaIN addresses these challenges by developing a structured and accessible AI training ecosystem tailored to the needs of SMEs and vocational education providers. The project focuses on building the digital capacity of professionals, trainers, and organizations by equipping them with practical AI knowledge and skills relevant to real business applications.

Through innovative learning methods and collaboration between educational institutions, technology companies, and training providers, AITRaIN will strengthen the AI readiness of the SME workforce. This will contribute to increased innovation, improved decision-making, and enhanced competitiveness within the European digital economy.
