metalaxis s.r.o. is a research-based AI adoption and remote management consultancy based in Brno, Czech Republic. We help small businesses, freelancers and remote teams across Europe decide what to drop, delegate or hand to AI, drawing on EU-funded Erasmus+ research projects such as HIRER, RemWork4SMEs, AITRaIN and THRIVE.
Μετάλλαξις (metallaxis) is an ancient Greek word meaning transmutation: the transformation of one thing into something different. That is what we help small businesses do with their work.

What we do
metalaxis s.r.o. is a small consultancy based in Brno, Czech Republic, working remotely with clients across Europe. We help small businesses, freelancers and remote teams use AI without the chaos: first we map what you actually do, then we decide what to drop, delegate or hand to AI, and we move it step by step. Research-based
We work as a partner in EU-funded research and training projects on remote work, e-leadership, wellbeing and AI skills. This work shapes the frameworks and training we use with clients:
- HIRER: e-leadership and online training for HR managers.
- RemWork4SMEs: healthy remote work for small and medium-sized businesses.
- AITRaIN: training AI Integration Specialists for SMEs.
- THRIVE: psychological resilience at work.
- Re.Ma.

What EU research is the metalaxis method based on?
Our methods come from Erasmus+ projects we have worked on, including HIRER on remote hiring and e-leadership, RemWork4SMEs on healthy remote work for small businesses, AITRaIN on AI skills training, and THRIVE. Their outcomes shaped our frameworks, which we have since updated for the AI tools small businesses use today.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need an AI consultant for a small business?
Not always. Many owners can start alone with a time audit and free tools. An outside view helps when you don't know where AI fits, your team is resisting, or data and process questions are slowing you down. Pick someone who maps your work first instead of selling a tool.
How do I start using AI in my small business?
Don't start with a tool. List what you and your team do in a normal week, find which work earns the most, and sort every activity into drop, delegate, automate with AI or do. Then run one or two small pilots with a clear measure of success before you scale anything.
How do you manage a remote team with AI?
Agree in writing which tasks AI may help with, what data must never go into AI tools, who checks AI output and who owns each workflow. Use AI for summaries, documentation and handovers that remote teams struggle with, and keep regular human check-ins so people don't feel replaced or watched.
What does an AI transition cost a small business?
It depends on scope more than on tools. Many first steps use subscriptions you already pay for, and the bigger cost is your team's time to map work, test and learn. Budget for a few small pilots first, measure the hours saved, and only then invest in bigger changes.
